Can i use dog shampoo on my guinea pig?

i only have my shampoo and dog shampoo. which should i use? or should i use any of them?Can i use dog shampoo on my guinea pig?

Guinea pigs have extremely sensitive skin and even the gentlest of baby shampoos is too rough on them. The dog shampoo would be even worse, since it may contain anti-flea medication which may kill your guinea pig.

The only thing you should use to bathe your guinea pig is just water or shampoo formulated just for small animals. Four Paws Bunny Bath works great on guinea pigs.

Your piggie should not need to be bathed at all, unless he/she somehow got very dirty. They really do a good job of cleaning themselves!





However, if you find you MUST bathe your piggie, dog shampoo is a no-no. Dog, cat, puppy, kitten, and baby shampoo are too drying for their delicate skin. You'll need to purchase shampoo that is formulated for use with ';small animals';. It can be found at just about any pet supply store and costs no more than human shampoo.
ok when i bathed my guineapigs i just diluted some children's shampoo with water and my pigs are just fine. healthy and happy. no skin problems at all. i really don't think you should use the dog shampoo.
i think you should just use your normal shampoo because when i give my Rabbit a bath ( guinea pigs and rabbits are the same as i bet you know) i just use my normal shampoo or my sisters ( please dont tell)lol!
I suggest you go to the pet store and buy special shampoo for little critters like guinea pigs. using your own shampoo or dog shampoo and irritate your guinea pigs skin and cause it to be really uncomfortable.
you can clean it but check forthese thing make sur theres no chemicals of skin irritatin things and you need to make sure not to get any in the eye it caauses perminet eye damage
Um...what? That's pretty funny. Never heard of anyone bathing a guinea pig. I seriously doubt if it matters what shampoo you use. You probably could use dishwashing liquid.
