usually if it's a dog's shampoo then it wasnt made for cats. sometimes it will work for both unless it says DO NOT USE ON CAT on the bottle.

Well I think one doggie shampoo wouldn't hurt. Give it a try but don't leave it on too long. Or how about just dunking your cat in a pool of clean water.
You never want to use dog products on cats, especially flea products. There is an ingrediant in many dog flea products that is fatal to cats if ingested. Cats have very different systems than other animals, so you have to be extra careful when using any products on them.

Or buy a flea shampoo specifically designed for cats. You're taking too big a risk if you use a dog flea shampoo.
