Human shampoos have detergent in it, making it more drying than dog shampoos. Using a dog shampoo won't make your hair fall out but if you just want a gentle shampoo you could try a baby shampoo or anything with oatmeal. Philosophy makes Oatmeal Raisin shampoo and it smells yummy.

It just has a slight different chemical makeup because they have a different Ph then us, but it is perfectly safe.
