Dog shampoo for a dog with sensitive skin?

We found a dog recently. Her fur was extremely matted, she was covered in ticks and fleas, and her poor ears were just eaten raw. I've bathed her, and managed to rid her of ticks and fleas, but she still has extremely sensitive skin that she's constantly scratching. I bought a special shampoo that has an oatmeal formula, and it seemed to help for a day or so, but now she's scratching again and her skin is just so raw. We have a vet appointment on Thursday, but I was wondering if anyone could reccomend a dog shampoo that may ease her discomfort?Dog shampoo for a dog with sensitive skin?
Allergroom is a very gentle, soap-free pet shampoo-it's made by Virbac. You can call around to vet offices to see who carries it.Dog shampoo for a dog with sensitive skin?
Please don't wash her again until after your vet tells you to or says it is okay. Too much bathing irritates the skin. She may have allergies or a skin disease or something else altogether. Only your vet will be able to tell what is wrong.

Call the vet and ask if there is something she or he would recommend for the itchy, raw skin. Maybe you can stop by the clinic and pick something up or maybe you can get the dog in sooner once the vet realizes how bad the dog's condition is. It's worth a try. You could also try calling other vets to see if one of them could see your dog sooner.
I wouldn't wash her anymore. You are drying out her skin which will cause more discomfort. try a spray or something. They usually have rub on lotions or oitments. But until you go to a vet you do not know whats causing the discomfort and you could be aggrivating it. see if you can get an earlier appt
Your most likely dried the skin out so just hold off on the baths for a couple weeks and rub the puppy often and buy her some doggy socks so she can't scratch so hard. Then use the oatmeal shampoo with conditioner once every 2 weeks. the problem will correct itself
you can buy lotion for there skin at a vet store- they have a special brand for sensitive skin but also try a rich moisture kind too- also dont bath her anymore- it dries out their skin
when my dog wuz a pup, vet said to use baby shampoo, now i use Mane n' tail....the vet may help you out with a spray (lotion) type perhaps she has some internal red mites???
you can get a spray well anti-itch spray at any pet store...it helps relieve itching and pain...some are cheaper but at petsmart it doesnt go over 20 dollars.
baby soap and add a little pure tea tree oil!
